Lie Detectors

These are now in use down at the DSS and there is talk about using them on sex offenders. I couldn’t agree with this more but it must be open and two-way. This is of course a personal opinion but I think at the Michael Jackson trial virtually all the prosecution witness, the sheriff; the DA and the judge would have finished up behind bars had they been subject to the right questions while wearing a lie detector. With regards to the Department of Social Security, decision makers and doctors they could ask the claimant if he is being genuine and he in turn could ask the DSS personnel if they are lying conniving sons of bitches and when they say no he can see if the polygraph goes haywire. The latest rumour here is that the government have had a re-think on DSS lie detectors and they are in the process of being dumped.

I suppose I am cynical to the extent that when anyone shouts loud enough I suspect them being a part of what they are shouting about, unless they have a personal reason for the shouting. Imagine polygraphs in parliament that went grunt: grunt every time someone told a porky? Prime Minister’s question time would change from a ‘children’s tea party’ to ‘dead lions’.
