Child Smacking
Anti-child-smackers want new laws to prevent parents smacking children; so what would happen if they got their way? Do we split every family who smacks their child? Let’s face it if a child shopped a parent for a smack how could the parent ever trust that child again. A warm loving family would turn as cold as ice. I’ve seen this happen.
Let’s have a look at the effects of do-gooders. It is 8.30am on the sixth of April 2009. Kids have had a good mention on the news this morning, over a half of school teachers are verbally abused by kids, a quarter of them physically attacked. We have a teacher who has been chased down the road by a deranged parent and another teacher was kicked and punched by six year olds who were trying to maim each other and last but not least a nine-year-old youth in South Yorkshire has been seriously injured and his eleven-year-old friend has life threatening head wounds. A ten and eleven year old are being questioned.
Not bad for one morning. Let me compare this to when I was young. To the best of my knowledge there was exactly ZERO teachers physically abused, ZERO verbally abused, ZERO parents chasing teachers down roads and ZERO six year olds kicking and punching teacher while trying to kill each other. My, have things changed. And of course if you find two kids trying to brutalise each other at the top of a very high concrete stairwell like I did some years ago, you wouldn’t dare go near them, Esther Rantzen proved this when one thousand eight hundred and twelve adults walked by two lost children. I certainly wouldn’t get involved in today’s atmosphere.
I
think we all know what’s gone wrong, laws have been made to undermine teachers
in schools, they can’t discipline children and they can’t expel them without
retribution. We can blame the parents but parents are no longer allowed to
discipline children in any serious manner. Even the police have to think twice
before approaching them even when they are stoning firemen; if the child points
the finger we are back in Salem.
This
hasn’t happened overnight, it takes time and a long string of do-gooders with
their own ambitions of control to create this level of mayhem. I am not even
sure it could have been avoided. It isn’t the kids that have changed it’s
‘huddles’ of adults in their mind-locked righteousness and the media cashing in
on it. Their voices overpower the sensible majority.
A
final word. Adults who abuse children are criminals. Criminals have no regard
for laws. You can make as many laws as you like, they are not listening. All
you are doing is punishing good parents and children in general.
I
think the unwanted truths here, speak for themselves.
