Bank Stampede
After the media coverage of Barings bank and Farepak where the little people lost their savings is there any wonder these people stampede at the first rumours of difficulty. The unwanted truth is that even with today’s massive bank bailouts the savers money has been saved by accident. If the government could have kept banks and businesses afloat while letting savers sink that is exactly what they would have done. We see this every day, importing Eastern Europeans because they think they are good for the economy while trying to shut out the Ghurkhas because they only fought and died for us. Even when peoples houses fall into the sea because of coastal erosion or more accurately lack of sea defences, there is no compensation, peoples lives are devastated for in government terms a few coppers.
